Audubon Art Information
Original Audubon prints are unique and distinguished among typical contemporary fine art prints in that they were pressed using a metal printing plate manufactured from JJ Audubon's original water colored, hand colored (except for Biens prints among the major editions), watermarked by the printer, and often can be be nearly 180 years old. Uniqueness and subtle variety in watermarks, plate marks, legends, sheet size, and image size across prints and editions coupled with print rarity and popularity make Audubon prints highly sought after and valuable.

Later reprints and restrikes are different than original Audubon prints. While they may also hold worth in aesthetics and ownership, they are valued at different levels and should not be confused with original Audubon prints.

In addition to the individual prints and Audubon books that will be offered for sale, several reference books will also be available in the e-store. Many of these books are out of print and in themselves are very collectible.
